Yesterday was the fourth of July (obvi). We both ended up having the day off! We had intended to spend it chilling on the lanai in a sunbeam, grilling etc but ended up spending it sitting in bed all day watching “Taxi”. Kristyn made me watch it and now I am obsessed. Hilarious and it makes me miss home A LOT.
A few weeks ago, Kristyn’s coworker (and our friend) Samantha offered to pick up Dodgers tickets for us for the 4th. We had such a great time at the last game that we were excited to go again! Aaaaand they were playing the Mets! Even more homesickness. We got there late (beginning of the 7th inning because we’re stone cold assholes – Taxi is GOOD). We had great seats and had a really good time. The Mets won so that was fun. We texted with my Dad throughout. He was watching the game at home bc he’s a Mets fan. (Plus we always need him to instruct us on whats happening haha.)
Going to the game was kinda awesome because we took a bus from our apartment to Dodger Stadium and it took only 8 minutes. BUT. There is a HUGE hill (series of hills) you have to walk up. Never again! And afterward we went out the went out the wrong door and ended up totally lost and on foot and in Elysian Park which we’ve never been in during daylight let alone in the pitch blackness. We eventually made our way back to Sunset to take the bus but it took a while.
BUT! There were fireworks! They let you go down on the field after the game and we tried to do it but they closed the gates before we could get there. So we ended up sitting field level
for the fireworks which was A-OK by us.
It was a great (and tiring) day. Also my younger sister turned 30. My lord where does the time go?
