Unflappable

Guys I know it’s early to make New Years Resolutions but I’m going to make one anyway. For 2011 I’m going to become “unflappable”.

I’ve always found subtle people to be hilarious. I myself am too dramatic of a person to ever achieve that kind of subtle humor. I’m always laughing at my own jokes. In short, I’m an idiot.

Apart from finding unflappable people funny, I think its probably a better way to be. Calmer, more in control, leaving a little to the imagination. Although I don’t know how I’ll pull that off and keep up with this blog. I guess we’ll see.

I don’t know if any of this makes sense or not I just wanted to write it down before I forgot.

I feel I must give you a full disclosure however:

This urge to become a cool customer has been here for a while but is definitely being influenced by “Little House on the Prairie”. Wait don’t leave just yet, hear me out. On this show, people don’t speak plainly. They tend to sidestep which I usually don’t like. BUT the way they do it isn’t to cover their own asses (which is the type of sidestepping I abhor). They mostly do it to be polite which to me is the one of the only types of “fibs” acceptable. And their humor is also very subtle. I don’t know that the world needs more pioneer humor since we’re already up to our petticoats in it but I am going to set up a personal “code” for myself much like Dexter has for his Dark Passenger. My code will be:

Would Ma say it?
Would Pa make a joke of this?

Give me some time.
